Hello everyone!

2 years ago, in 2019, my lifetime dream became my reality and I enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program, a 2 year program, offered by Collège Boréal here in Sudbury. When I graduate, 3 weeks from now, I will be declared as a Veterinarian Technician (VT). In order to land a job at most places, they require you to become a Registered Veterinarian Technician (RVT) which can only be done by completing a national exam to claim your registration. In order to have access to this national exam, you must graduate from an accredited OAVT college. Up until last Friday, Collège Boréal had full accreditation with the OAVT. Our accreditation has since been revoked, leaving the students helpless and defenceless with only 3 weeks left to complete before graduating. As of right now, if we graduate with the Collège Boréal, we will never have the opportunity to write our national exam to become registered with the OAVT removing countless offers and experience within the work world. With 2 years (and only 3 weeks remaining) filled with hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and, tears, this has all come as a huge shock to us leaving us with nothing but a numb feeling.

I am writing to all of you in hopes you could all take 5 minutes out of your day to sign our petition and help us students reach our dreams.

Together, we hope to get the OAVT and the Collège Boréal to realize how much we students have invested in this program and how much we deserve to graduate with accreditation.
