Removal of the star on the Arkansas flag that symbolizes it's confederate past.

Removal of the star on the Arkansas flag that symbolizes it's confederate past.
The Issue
Most people don't know about the Confederate symbolism on the Arkansas state flag, so please read and get the word out...Many statues, monuments and flags that commemorate and celebrate certain historical figures and events are finally being removed based on their connection to the Confederacy and slavery. South Carolina voted to stop flying the Confederate battle flag in 2015. Since then, and especially since the demonstrations following the killing of George Floyd, states like Mississippi have finally voted to remove the confederate symbolism from their flag and organizations like NASCAR and the NFL team in Washington DC have made moves to ban the battle flag and change their racist team name respectively. We must act now to bring attention to the Arkansas flag. There are three stars under the word Arkansas that each represent a country that it was once part of. Spain, France and the U.S.A. ABOVE the word their is one star. In 1924, it was put there to represent that Arkansas was a member of the confederacy. 63 years later in 1987, Bill Clinton signed off on the design to make it official. If it bothers me as a white man, I can only imagine how it would affect someone of color. Please sign this petition to remove the Confederate star from the Arkansas state flag!
