John Nichols Boozman is an American politician and former optometrist born in 1950, serving as the senior United States Senator from Arkansas since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, Boozman previously represented Arkansas's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2011. He is the dean of Arkansas's congressional delegation. Boozman co-founded Boozman-Hof Regional Eye Clinic and has an academic background that includes a Pre-Optometry degree from the University of Arkansas, a high school diploma from Northside High School, and a licensure in optometry from Southern College of Optometry. In addition to his legislative career, Boozman is a rancher and business executive.
