An Open Petition to Senators on Immigration and Trade

The Issue

To fight for justice and peace in the Americas today means to take a stand for immigrants' rights -- to oppose racist "Secure" Communities, 287(g) programs, Arizona's SB1070, raids and deportations.

It also means to oppose the US trade policies that force migration in the first place. The TRADE Act is one way of doing that -- it would put a moratorium on free trade agreements, and force the renegotiation of existing agreements. Right now we have 148 cosponsors in the House of Representatives, but it's vital that we get more sponsorship of the companion bill in the Senate. You can help us get there!
