Football Federation Australia (FFA) is the governing body for the sport of soccer in Australia. Founded in 1961, it has been a member of FIFA, the international football federation, since 1963. Among the FFA's responsibilities are the organization and conduct of Australia's professional football leagues, the A-League and the W-League, as well as national teams including the Socceroos and the Matildas. In addition to overseeing the administration and promotion of soccer at all levels across Australia, the FFA also supports the development and growth of the sport through grassroots initiatives and coaching programs.
