Our athletes deserve so much better than RCA Competes. The judging is inconsistent and biased, there’s blatant favoritism, and the overall professionalism is severely lacking. Competitions are poorly managed, with significant time delays, disorganization, and safety concerns that put our athletes at risk. These failures create a frustrating and unfair experience for both athletes and spectators. It’s unacceptable that our cheerleaders, who work so hard, are subjected to such a poorly run system. It’s time to terminate affiliation with RCA Competes and find competitions that truly prioritize fairness, safety, and the success of our athletes.
For years my highschool cheer team has gave their all which includes, not dropping stunts, not hitting the floor when tumbling, sharp, loud, and a clean routine. Our competition who has multiple stunts dropped as well as touching the floor when tumbling somehow beats us every year. It’s time for a change. Every cheerleader deserves to win fairly, not because they are the favorites or have connections.
For valid reasons explained, my daughter’s team has chosen to not attend Divisional competitions as a result of RCC’s lack of ability to implement a safe, fair and organized competition. This is very unfortunate for athletes who should look forward to competing in their sport and have a chance at qualifying and competing at state. We fought to make cheer a sport, and without change many more teams and athletes will experience the same disappointment.
It is difficult to see the lack of professionalism and care for our athletes year after year (only one cooler of food for an entire cheer team for a nine hour comp, poor scheduling (10.5 hrs), belittling of coaches, athletes, and parents by Laurie.
