Taking away these painted walls takes away not just our creative freedom as students, but it takes away legacies and years of STEM students who have made a difference at the school and for our future. Reading the inspiring quotes and seeing all of the beautiful artwork displayed in the classes reminds me that we each are important together as we are individually. We all have a voice and it needs to be seen and heard. Leave STEM High rooms alone!!!
The murals in Mrs. Murray’s classroom are inspirational and artistic paintings that tell a story. A story about our previous seniors and the experiences they not only had at STEM High, but with Mrs. Murray herself. By removing the murals, you would remove the memories that we shared with our seniors at STEM. By doing so, you would tell the students at STEM that our experiences don’t matter. That our years of building bonds with our teachers and friends are so easily destroyed by a district. One who could care less as long as they get paid. So please, I ask of you that if you care, please sign the petition. Let’s fight to keep our murals.
Mrs. Murray’s classroom will forever be one of the most beautiful things I’ll ever see. I’ve never seen a classroom so full of color—so much so that it seems like it’s living like we do. Getting rid of this will bring a boring classroom that will never have the charm it once had.
