Every day.... every single day, I have a choice. I can go through this dangerous intersection, or I can add 25 minutes to my 8 minute commute to work to drive in the opposite direction just to remain safe. You can't turn left safely because of traffic flow; you cannot turn right safely because you can't see around the vehicles blocking who are trying to turn left. It's a lose/lose situation. Please give us something...anything that might make this a safer place to drive.
I'm not in Blairsville every day, but I have used this intersection before when I went there. It is a very scary place to try to get out. The traffic is just too heavy and the traffic needs to be directed, such as with the proposed temporary light. One of my coworkers and her children werwere just in an accident there. This is a time sensitive issue--please act before somebody else gets seriously injured, or killed!
I have lived off of Gibbs Road since 2019. Sadly, there have been chronic accidents of extreme nature at the intersection. It is difficult to see the on coming traffic from all directions despite how long one waits before proceeding. Rather than lose life and vehicles, it appears reasonable to install a light. I had the privilege of speaking with a Blairsville police officer who indicated that this intersection has more reoccurring accidents than other intersections in this city. This officer indicated it was similar to the Shoe Factory road light that was recently installed!
Many teenagers, like myself, are politically educated and want a say in who rules our country. If the voting age is lowered, it means that younger voices would be heard, it would promote more voting, and possibly encourage more teens to educate themselves politically to prepare. Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote and stand for what they believe in.
