Help us save our street (59th St. W between Cortez Rd W and Manatee Ave W)! Our town has proposed construction to widen our street into a 4-lane "highway." We believe this project is not needed and will ruin our safety and home values. Traffic jams are NOT a problem on this street, with vehicles flowing freely morning, afternoon and evening. This project would force the town to take portions of everyone's property, putting the street and sidewalk in our current front yards. In short, the street would be closer to our houses, making our driveways and front yards completely unsafe. Families will not buy houses on this street if this project happens, and our home values will nosedive. All for a project that isn't needed. We love our street and want to keep our families safe and our homes to maintain their value after decades of care from many of the owners. Please help us fight this needless project!
