I support this cause because I feel like the flag represents a specific political belief, not just a symbol of inclusion. For some, it conflicts with personal or religious values. I believe campus spaces should stay neutral and not promote one group's views over others. Having this flag up makes some people uncomfortable and can feel divisive. I think it's very important to respect everyone's beliefs and keep a balance on campus.

I was raised in a home where public areas were kept free of any group specific symbols or flags. I don’t think inclusivity works by highlighting one group over others in common spaces. I have been reading the posts and am confused. Some people continue to bring up Father Pat. No where in this petition was Fr Pat’s name brought up or referenced. The only time I’ve seen it was in a response from Fr Daniel. My issues and those of a lot of us is the direction the current leaders have taken MBP. In the last couple years we have had a long time principal leave, a vice principal whose contract was not renewed and about half the teachers leave or basically asked to not return. Because of all this change I feel my children are not getting the education they deserve. Fr Daniel might say he has an open door but if approached he gives off negative vibes. He has a way of making one feel like it’s their fault and it is because they are not a good catholic. We are just asking the archdiocese to sit down with MPB members and Fr Daniel for an open discussion to address our concerns and see if we can find a way to make MPB great again.
