The Orangeburg Dragstrip has been alot of memories and good times for us personally, after I heard about the new "rezone" issue I was furious! Orangeburg Sc is OVERPOPULATED, that housing project makes no sense because locals here already struggle finding employment!!!
We need more businesses here so that the employment rates will get better, not housing projects
This dragstrip (SCMP) is a family, a family of hard earned, hard working race car folks and trying to take that away is WRONG,on so many levels. PLEASE say no to the rezone
Freedom is all! I have watched many roar down this dragstrip while my 5 and 3yr old boys scream the sounds of the engines. Many late nights, good people, a great damn time and hella memories. Leave our world be.
I have so many core memories at this drag strip. I even remember them shutting the lanes down the day Dale Earnhardt died. Now my 21 year old son makes memories on the mud track. There’s new subdivisions going up everywhere. How bout clean up Oburg and leave the country side alone.
My father and I travel all the way from Arlington Texas to race at this track! We have had success here, but more importantly, the memories we have made together on the journey to and from will last a lifetime. We look forward to making new ones!
My grandmother, Dad and sister ran the kitchen many years ago. The memories of spending the weekends at the track is one I've always enjoyed. I believe passing these memories on is vital. I sure hope to see this track Back up one day soon.
Started going to this race track with my parents. Probably 35 plus years ago. I have taken my family there and my daughter has raced on this track in a mini sprint. Great track and always a good time. A two and a half hour drive for us and it was always worth the trip never left disappointed.
Gas City Speedway is my racing career began. This is where many racing career have began or been part of the propelling process for most grass roots racers. This is an iconic racing venue that has been put on the map multiple times when open most recently by the late Jerry Gappens. Let’s make it happen again! I’ll do what I can to help!
