I saw how much DeSantis is trying to overtake educational insitutions to spread more right-wing propaganda, censoring important sources of material and discouraging speech as long as it doesn't echo the tune of his own political views. FAU needs to fight back before any more damage is done.
It is apparent that many of these conservative politicians with no real credentials taking over universities want to erase any literature that does not fit the disturbing agenda that Trump and by extension Desantis tells them to follow for their own promised financial or political gain. It began with new college of Florida with books on sexuality, gender orientation, race, women's rights, and religious studies being thrown into dumpsters and this university that is being taken over as well will likely meet a similar fate. Young people need to learn the true and often times dark history on these subjects and be free to be their authentic selves or we are all doomed to repeat that history. As a transgender person in my 20’s I especially fear for any and all students that are part of the lgbt+ community if Adam Hasner takes over FAU.
University is about exploring your interests throughout the various classes you take and organizations you join. So I don't get why we're trying to swing the politicalness of an inherently neutral place. I'm a student at WHC, and I don't want this guy!!! I'm a minority and I worry about my place at this school with the takes he has shown in the past :((
