It’s sick to go into these pet stores (which for a lot of us is the only places near us we can go) to get things for our animals or get new animals and have to see abuse that gets seen by millions of people a day around the country and nothing is done about it I don’t understand how it’s okay to treat fish like they are treated a living breathing animal while it is completely unacceptable to keep a dog in a cage too small or leave them outside in the cold for example it’s sickening
I have owned aquatic animals my whole life, specially betta fish and I know that betta can not thrive in a tank smaller than 5 gallons and they can not survive in anything smaller that 3 gallons. The way that petco that's their betta fish is appalling and the fact that they advertise keeping them in half gallon bowls is disgusting, if petco continues to keep their bettas in cup the size of a yogurt container and promoting people to jeep betta bowls these beautiful fish will continue to be killed. Please help these fish.
Selling animals in stores when there are so many rescues and so many animals in need of homes is wrong. Think about if you were put into a cage with a small amount of food and water and people came and stared at you and tapped on the glass and music was blasting through the store. How is that not cruel? Animals despite everyone thinking so are not property and deserve to be treated with dignity and kindness.
