Remove pet medications that contain high doses of alcohol.
Remove pet medications that contain high doses of alcohol.
The Issue
Petco is, in general, a very responsible organization. However, they have started carrying remedies that include an amount of alcohol in them that could get a grown adult inebriated. Beyond the fact that it's not generally indicated for dogs, a teenager could easily purchase it as Petco does not ask for ID.
I performed a demonstration with this in which I, a grown adult, easily became intoxicated on one bottle of a product called Good-Dog!
Several products from Pet Organics purport to help calm your animals via their homeopathic components, but in fact they list 13% alcohol as an inactive ingredient. That's as concentrated as wine. Alcohol is a drug and, as you can see from my video, it is quite active.
Please sign the petition and let Petco and the other national retailers know that carrying a product as strong as wine and labeling it "inactive" is unacceptable. Our pets are worth it.
