Killing other sentient and intelligent animals to protect the endangered Cassin’s Auklet is senseless, ineffective, and inhumane. Poison will cause more harm to the entire ecosystem. Humans are the root cause of wildlife endangerment.
The government and its agencies must understand the entire scope of the issue and find non-lethal ways to preserve and protect these valuable habitats and all the species that live there. Peaceful co-existence can be and must be maintained.

Research has proven that killing coyotes does not fix the problem that humans have caused. Why are we not listening to professionals in this field, and instead heading to the loud voices of a few? If this was a medical issue with a person would you not listen to medical professionals?
Killing animals does not work. You need to crack down on inappropriate human behaviour. We need to learn to share our spaces with our wild neighbours.

Citizens and govt need to learn to safely share the space. If this is the solution to problems we are in deep trouble. Other options like education, lighting, noise deterents, walking dogs on leash at safe times and paying attention, stop destroying their habitats etc. Im disgusted in hesring this news.

Rather than change their behaviour, they want to slaughter innocent wild animals because they have lost their home in Ontario place and are now fighting for territory and survival.
As a responsible dog owner who has lived in this area for 8+ years, I’m used to seeing coyotes. They have never bothered me or my dog.
I acknowledge that since the construction in Ontario place started in summer 2025, there has been more frequent sightings and interactions, but people need to learn to live with them and modify our own behaviour to be able to live harmoniously.
