Disc golf is a affordable, accessible recreation that deserves a place in this city. This course has been a great escape and helped many discover a new park and new neighborhoods.
I played in the inaugural tournament here earlier in the year, the people who run the league/club are very nice and encourage people to join/play. It’s the only course NYC has access to, Long Island is also lacking additional courses leaving us to travel to New Jersey, Connecticut, Upstate, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts & more. Taking this away from the newly formed community around the course doesn’t make sense. Don’t let that bogus NYU professors article paint a negative picture of this park and disc golf.
The national parks have been a significant part of my childhood. Becoming a Junior Ranger, collecting all the badges, and being able to see how beautiful our country and this earth is has impacted who I am as a person, and I want others to be able to experience the same as time continues. Please protect our parks and our planet!
