Mass incarceration is a pressing issue that has significant societal implications, particularly in terms of criminal justice reform and racial inequality. Recent trends have highlighted the disproportionate impact of mass incarceration on minority communities, leading to calls for systemic changes in sentencing laws and prison reforms. Petitions related to mass incarceration often focus on reducing mandatory minimum sentences, increasing access to rehabilitation programs, and addressing the racial disparities within the criminal justice system.
One petition with thousands of signatures urges policymakers to invest in alternative forms of punishment for non-violent offenders, emphasizing the need to prioritize rehabilitation over incarceration. Another notable petition highlights the need for increased transparency and accountability in the prison system to ensure fair treatment for all individuals.
Make a difference by joining the movement to reform mass incarceration policies. Your support can help create a more just and equitable society for all.
Everybody deserves a second chance especially those who are in a negatibe environment like the D.O.C surrounded by people who really don't want to change. I believe Daniel earned his freedom in a MAJOR way. The D.O.C isn’t made for correction nor change but he CHANGED. May he be free to live and enjoy his life he suffered enough from a child and now prison.
we have got to take better care of the mental health of our loved ones in these facilities. They are human just as we are, they deserve better treatment.
Even the healthiest prisons can be torturous to inmates, but the conditions these inmates are forced to endure is horrendous. It’s so sad that multiple men would rather burn themselves alive. It doesn’t have to be this bad.
Too many of us consider the *horrors* we hear about prisons as a part of the punishment for crimes. As if the *sentencing* people are assigned by our justice system is meaningless. As if these unspecified and infinite tortures are required for real punishment.
Punishment beyond sentencing makes a mockery of our whole system.
And we all know it's happening.
We just figure it's wrapped into how the justice system works.
We're walking around believing that off-the-books-violence and torture are *normal* and *right.*
It's not right.
And it shouldn't be normal.
It shouldn't EVER happen, let alone be so normalized only a couple people I know will do more than shrug about this.
This has to change.
These are real people.
This is beyond unacceptable.
Because I was in prison b4. And I've seen alot n how staff treats imates. Once your in there hands. They love the control and the abuse. Mentally and physically. Please help these people. Just because there inside those gates and have to wear chains n shackles. There still humans. And staff should not get away with abusing anyone.
Regardless of what was done, He should not have to pay the price for an unjust system that has plagued the black and brown communities across the country. I have had the opportunity to meet this man and you never saw him without seeing his family. The system has not only done an injustice to Him, they have made his 5 daughters pawns in their games because the suffer without him being present. Free Him
I had the pleasure of meeting and learning from Messiah during my own incarceration. I nelieve on a personal level that should he be set free Messiah can and will be a major asset in the community. He deserves a chance the man has earned it. Listen to us we lived around him talked with him learned from him , we are the ones who know him. Free him please !!!!!!
