as a trans person, this sanctuary city is a much needed place for everyone, a place for everyone.
the world is a violent place, so having this sanctuary city is just what the LGBT need
Mostly I care about this issue because there is currently so much vitriol against the LGBTQ community right now. A show of support like this could make a difference in many people's lives.
As the largest IPS league in the nation, we have the singular privilege of being at a complex that is able to accommodate our large number of teams, and we can have all of our games in a single day at a single field. This is a boon to our league, and is something we are proud of. Having been patrons of these fields for years now, we would be saddened to have to move fields that better accommodate us, and we really do not want to leave. Please do not make this a permanent thing, and find a temporary solution that can be put up for children's games, and then removed for adults to continue to use the fields.
Please do not change these fields! They play such a huge part in many people’s life’s. It’s a safe space for many of our lgbtq+ members and a home to the largest softball league around . A place we share to not only play softbal, but also a place we share laughter, compassion and love for eachother AND the sports. Please reconsider this change
As someone who was coerced into a relationship with an adult at just 12 years old, this behavior sickens me. I hope the survivor and his family are doing well and that they can get the help they need. Our justice system has failed so many children who have suffered evil, heinous acts at the hands of adults. Let's sign this petition to make sure every single monster is held accountable!
My name is Vee, and I am a 13-year-old transgender girl. Since I was little, I’ve known who I am. But knowing and being allowed to live as myself are two very different things.
For many transgender youth like me, gender-affirming healthcare isn’t just about looking a certain way—it’s about survival. It’s about waking up in the morning and not feeling like a stranger in your own body. It’s about reducing the anxiety, dysphoria, and depression that come from being forced into a body that doesn’t match who you are.
I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and feel like you don’t belong in your own skin. I know what it’s like to feel so trapped, so unheard, that you just want to make the pain stop. There were times when that pain became so overwhelming that I turned it inward. Self-harm became a way to cope, to try and release something I didn’t have words for. I didn’t want to feel this way, but when you are constantly told that you shouldn’t exist as you are, that your identity is up for debate, the pain builds up.
I’m not alone in this. So many trans kids feel like this because we are denied the care that could help us feel whole. gender-affirming medication drastically reduces self-harm and suicide rates among trans youth. It’s not just about comfort—it’s about saving lives.
Right now, trans kids across the country are being denied the care they need. Laws and policies are being put in place to strip us of our rights, making it harder—sometimes impossible—to access the medication that can help us live happy and healthy lives. Some of us are forced to go through puberty in a body that feels wrong, leading to emotional distress that no child should have to endure.
While I believe that a business is free to make any decision that it feels would be beneficial to its shareholders and board, I believe L3/Harris is making a financial mistake by no longer selling their tubes commercially. The NVG hobby is growing and this move will price out many potential customers or drive them to competitors. Had I not been able to buy tubes separately on the commercial market, I would have been one of those.
