Kratom has saved my life. It is very misunderstood. Kratom has helped millions of people get off of heroin, opiates , alcohol and other illegal substances, which are killing people everyday. I promise that there will be an influx of opioid overdoses, due to people going back to drug use if kratom is in fact banned. And then we will have a huge crisis nationally. Kratom is absolutely not what the media is making it out to be. It also is a perfect pain reliever and has helped people to not have to resort to opiates to control their pain. Kratom is extremely hard to overdose on and quite literally is a godsend. Please don’t do that to us.

I have been taking it for 8years with no issues. I would never want to go back to opioid drugs because I can no longer access kratom. That would be heartbreaking. Kratom really helps me to deal with the nerve pain and muscle spasms. Painkillers help a bit, but they put me in a bad mood, if I am fortunate to be prescribed them to me; since doctors are reluctant to prescribe them anymore. SSRIs are the worst because they turn me into a manic depressive person.

From then up until May of 2019, I burned every bridge I had whether it was family, girlfriends, friends. Even people I didn’t really know, I would steal or borrow money with no intention of paying back and my personality went from kind and selfless to angry and selfish. I found out about Kratom after all other avenues of “quitting opiates” were unsuccessful like suboxone, inpatient/outpatient rehabs, cold turkey with a support system. The Kratom groups on “Reddit” were extremely helpful on advice for using Kratom to quit pills and after trying it once, I never took or even had a single thought of taking opiates again and that was almost 6 years ago. These bans targeting Kratom will hurt a lot of people. Recovering addicts, addicts who have been recovered with Kratoms help, veterans and elderly folks who can’t stomach being on medications that subside their problems but lessen their quality of life in other ways. We should be keeping Kratom legal and using to put an end to the opioid epidemic that’s ravaging our country. Please consider keeping Kratom safe, legal, and available to people over the age of 21. Thank you.

My mood is improved and I feel like doing things... better yet I am able to do normal, daily tasks while my pain is managed by kratom. My life quality is so much better as not restricted from enjoying it by horrific pain. I am not alone. Kratom is giving a higher quality of life to do many it should not be banned. The effects are magical with minimal side effects. It should be available for all, and studied for further potential benefits.
