The Toledo city council has officially paused their efforts to ban kratom sales in the city! During last night's council meeting, the council members voted on the amended resolution and decided to stay their vote on the ordinance which would have banned the sale of kratom within Toledo city limits.
Thanks to all of your support, the work of many local organizers, and the support from the American Kratom Association, we were able to make a difference in our community. All of the amazing stories you shared on this petition and during the open comments sessions speak to kratom's therapeutic potential and the power of our community when we come together.
The battle to keep kratom legal is continuing at the state and federal level, however! If you want to get involved with supporting these efforts, we highly encourage you to visit the AKA's website for more information and to join their mailing list: https://www.protectkratom.org/
We at SaveKratomToledo will continue to pay close attention to our local politicians in the coming months, as well. Should the Toledo City Council decide to revive this legislation, we will return to fight it with every tool at our disposal.
Thank you all again for your tremendous support over the last few weeks. Remember, when we band together, we can create real positive changes in our community!
