I’ve learned more about Canada’s history in the last 25 years than the whitewashed tripe they sold me in school. It’s absolutely shocking, and truly shameful our racist history and the failure of the government to own up to it. The inclusion of the indigenous history course - a true history - in the school curriculum would go a long way to educate a public ignorant of the crimes committed in the name of the Crown.

I think that history and culture of POC and underrepresented groups in America should be taught in school. Especially taught about groups who have suffered significantly throughout US History, such as Indigenous people and Black people. If we are taught the truths of America, and are taught how to care about these things. America can be a country we can be proud about.

We need to educate more people about Indigenous history in order to help others understand why Indigenous communities are suffering to this day.
