Fight for Indigenous communities in Canada to access clean water

Fight for Indigenous communities in Canada to access clean water
The Issue
Clean water is a human right applied to everyone. Considering that Canada is a developed country and has an abundant amount of fresh water, the idea that Indigenous communities have been on boil water advisories is outrageous.
This issue is spread out through the Northern small communities of Canada where Indigenous people reside. The majority have been on boil advisories for years on end. Boil advisories instruct people to boil their water before consuming or using it. Regardless if they've been on boil advisories or not, their water is risky and unsuitable for living.
After viewing documentaries on this issue, it is visible that they are suffering not only physically but mentally too. The unclean water can (and HAS) lead to diseases, rashes, birth defects, and even death. Mentally and emotionally, these people feel unheard, unsafe, frustrated, and even suicidal.
They have been addressing these concerns for years and have even taken action, yet nothing has been completed. The water facilities are not stable nor up to date and need to be renovated and repaired.
After years of begging and direct communication with Prime Minister Trudeau, nothing has been taken action to. Sign this petition, educate yourself, and bring more awareness to this crucial impact on Indigenous communities. They're already facing other issues on top of this. They've been unheard of for too long.
