We can no longer pretend that we are living in a Democratic Republic when people are being snatched off the street and deported without due process. In a few short months we've become the very kind of country we used to condemn.
This is the 21st century, for God's sake. How can anyone honestly believe that a person or group's protection depends on the silencing and disappearance of someone else? This is how absolute monarchies used to behave. Don't we believe in democracy anymore?
The issue I had with an previous HOA, "Woodlake Community, 21045. Unfortunately *HOA's, thumb their nose down towards long time respectable renters*
My personal issue occurred during the pandemic Spring of 2020.
I purchased a vehicle. I'd parked my personal vehicle, underneath my assigned carport, which is apart of the house/property. Note: When the house was purchased the carport was attached to the property = "private property"! Randomly one afternoon I noticed an pink or red notice placed on my vehicle, noted 2nd notice. I was nevernotified by"Woodlake" HOA; via email through my landlord "the actual home owner," or direct mail to self "the tenant" personally in the first place. Note: The Association fee(s) were included in my leasing agreement.
Once I noticed the notification I'd purchase an car cover placed it over my personal vehicle. Underneath my personal carport "private property." A few days later my neighbors teenage relative witnessed a tow truck driver removing my car cover and my vehicle from underneath my private carport. By knocking on my door and yelling to notify me of what was going on with my vehicle being towed. The Woodlake HOA president that particular time negotiated with an particular tow truck company located on "Kit Kat Road in Elkridge Maryland. Driving around the Woodlake community towing the Community residence vehicles, in the middle of a pandemic due to covid-19. Everything just about everything was shut down including in MVA. I had to pay between 250 - $300+ some odd dollars to retrieve my vehicle from out of the car pound. This occurred three to four separate occasions over a years span.
I notified and filed complaints to the HOA about the troubling matter. I notified my neighbors in the community of what I was being subjected to. Other HOA members, via Woodlake HOA's zoom meetings. I was harassed, I had trash from out of my own personal trash can, remove from underneath my carport and placed out onto my front lawn... by the way I still have photos of. At that moment in time was the final straw for me. I notified the local law enforcement authorities to file a police report against that particular individual
& the Woodlake HOA. The direct targeting, harassment towards me, personally during a actual pandemic actually took a financial and emotional toll on me. My mistake was not following through filing an civil lawsuit against Woodlake community HOA. After seeking potential counsel I was notified I had a actual damn good case, I still til this day regret not following through... not sure if the statue of limitations expired pertaining to something to this particular matter.
Lastly, I must admit every last individual and / or department that I notified to file complaints to about the Woodlake HOA president. Totally agreed with me, about what I was dealing with. It was absolute harassment, intimidation, just out right unjustifiable; all because I was a renter! I immediately choose to demanded respect from that individual(s), it didn't matter to me,if I was renter, or not. Everyone should always be treated with dignity and respect in any and every Community. As an Homeowner and/ or respectable renter in the privacy and comfort of your/they're own home!
I am happy to share the Woodlake HOA president was not re-elected in 2022.
Thank you!
