38 year old mother of 5 kids under the age of 10 yrs old, two of which are disabled! Private rented from I was 17 never faulted, being evicted from a property that ive lived in over 11 years again rent payments were always made via direct debit, housing won't help with my homelessness as they say I've made myself homeless because I refused to pay further rent increases due to repairs in the property that has never been fixed, environmental health has deemed the house unliveable due to electrical dangers, housing don't have any 4 bedroom houses for any1 within the cookstown area as I've been on a housing list for years! I like many others have reached out to politicians etc as we are desperate, no family should be tossed out on the street. There is nothing to accommodate temporary either should we be evicted! There's simply no1 to turn too, no help it's disgusting in this day in age. Currently I'm refusing to leave the property, as I believe the landlord is claiming fraudulently due to my tenancy that he ended back in November 2024, he himself threw universal credit is getting paid but there has never been a tenancy agreement signed since his notice to leave. Therefore he has no proof of who's living/ renting the property legally.. I'm not paying any top up moneys so I'm currently not paying any rent! It seems us normal people can't even take the landlord to court, they have all the rights, it's unfair and unjust, my children are living unsafely not protected, and in fear of having no home, no belongings, no way of being fed or kept warm, when does it end! We want justice!

Completely unjust that I, the only tenant paying (full) rent (one other covered by hb.,) should pay to maintain a car park I don't use (no vehicle) while residents of privately purchased properties who DO use it , and anyone else who chooses, pay absolutely nothing.

My housing association service charges are anything but transparent, We see evidence of cover price fruad, higest tender bId DOUBLE the lowest tender bid, 2018 Our Property maintenance contractor went bankrupt, evidence of repair work invoice put in but work be never completed, is in the liquidators report. debts £500,000 poor quality of repair or work not done. Example we found in invoice £1600 boiler repair, for a new Right hand block that should have cisted around £450 + VAT to repair . Cost £1600 Contractor fruad collision. SAR data (our LL) shows large works marked on LL computer as work completed, however in reality no work was ever done. The Finacial abuse in the Social housing sector is on an epic scale, there is no fast affordable means to complain. Social Landlord's face no meaningfull sanctions from any regulator, it seems. There is no legal aid. so the abuse goes on .

I have in the past supported families through Homestart and seen the neglect and experienced the contempt and dishonesty of some of these agencies. Unacceptable that property is in poor condition and is let via councils who are paying for this 'service'

I really care about your issue because I live in a Southern Housing property for the past 18 months. I know Southern Housing to be crooks, liars, bullies and thieves. I moved into an uninhabitable property, was assured they'd help me pay to put it right and did nothing. I am £17,000 out of pocket, in debt, when at 65, I have never been in debt in my life. I have cancer and I know that the stress they have forced on me has increased my cancer protein count. I am still trying to fight them. I have never been so unhappy in my life and had to tolerate such evil landlords. All Southern Housing care about is their shareholders and treat their tenants like prisoners and worse.

"As a social justice advocate and campaigner, I stand firmly in solidarity with the Richmond mother and her children. This case is a devastating example of how Britain’s housing, welfare, and legal systems are failing the very people they are supposed to protect — and disproportionately failing disabled families and ethnic minorities. The unlawful eviction under Section 21, the denial of education, and the systemic delays amount to a clear breach of human rights, disability rights, and racial equality obligations. We cannot call ourselves a just society while vulnerable families are forced into homelessness, denied education, and left without recourse. I call on Keir Starmer’s Labour Government to abolish Section 21 urgently, and for the PHSO to conduct a full and transparent investigation into Richmond Council, RHP, and Achieving for Children. We need a system that delivers justice for all, not just for those who can afford it. Justice delayed is rights denied — and we will not be silent. We demand accountability. We demand reform. We demand justice now." #JusticeForRichmondMother #SocialJustice #DisabilityRights #EndSection21 #SystemicInjustice #AquayemiClaudeAkinsanya

These kids didn’t ask to be brought into the world so we as adults should hold accountability and take care of them

A permanent shelter in Bancroft isn’t just important - it’s necessary. So many in our community are struggling silently without a safe place to go. A shelter would provide stability, safety, and a real chance for people to rebuild their lives. Everyone deserves a place to call home, even if it’s temporary. This is about compassion, dignity, and doing the right thing for our neighbours.
