私は千葉県の土気町に住む住民です。この緑の空間は単なる木々の集まりではなく、私たちのコミュニティにとって多くの利益をもたらす不可欠な一部です。地元の野生動物の生息地としての役割から、精神的および身体的な健康への貢献まで、この森は代替不可能な資源です。

しかし、提案されている住宅開発は、この貴重な資源を破壊するおそれがあります。何も変更せずに進行を許可すれば、木々だけでなく、コミュニティのアイデンティティと健康の不可欠な部分を失います。

日本の陸地の約68.5%が森林で覆われています（林野庁のデータによる）。しかし、私たちのような都市部では急速な開発により緑地が減少しています。この喪失は生物多様性だけでなく、大気汚染レベルの上昇や遊び場の減少、さらには大気中に二酸化炭素を放出することによってコミュニティに影響を与えます。

このプロジェクトに関与する千葉市の地方当局やと住宅関係者に、計画を再考するように求めます。これらの利益を享受している住民としてだけでなく、将来の世代のためにこれらの自然資源を保存する責任者としても求めます。

修正してほしい主な点：

• できるだけ多くの森林の上部を保存してください（提案されたわずかな部分だけではなく）、木々の水吸収特性、野生動物の生存場所を引き続き保つように修正してください。
• 開発の残りの部分に、子供が適切に遊べるように、ブランコ、滑り台などが含まれる別の公園エリアを追加してください。

この開発計画によって最後の森林の破壊を防ぐことの支援のため、この請願に署名してください。

I am a resident living near the last pocket of forest in Toke, Chiba. This green space is not just a collection of trees; it is an integral part of our community that provides us with numerous benefits. From its role as a habitat for local wildlife to its contribution to our mental and physical well-being, this forest has been an irreplaceable asset.

However, the proposed housing development threatens to destroy this precious resource. If allowed to proceed without any changes, we stand to lose more than just trees; we will lose a vital part of our community's identity and health.

Forests cover approximately 68.5% of Japan’s land area (according to the Forestry Agency), but urban areas like ours are increasingly losing their green spaces due to rapid development. The loss not only affects biodiversity but also impacts communities by increasing air pollution levels and reducing recreational spaces, not to mention releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

We urge local authorities in Midori, Chiba, Japan, and relevant stakeholders involved in this project to reconsider their plans. We ask them not only as residents who enjoy these benefits but also as stewards responsible for preserving these natural resources for future generations.

Key areas we wish to have amended:

• Preserve the top portion of the forest as much as possible (not just the tiny part you have suggested) to allow us to continue to benefit from the trees shelter, water absorbing properties and haven for wildlife.
• Ensure that in the rest of the development, there is another park area including swings, slides etc. to allow children to play there properly
