This building had a lot of History. when I was small we would visit and sing to the residents. Their grave yard is back in the park. it's worth having children and others who are not familiar with it to learn about its history. Could be a money maker for our city. Please don't tear it down. When I get paid I'll donate.
The city has allowed this building to get in the condition it is now. They want to probably tear it down to make more unaffordable apartments again. Our infrastructure can't support more people, make this a historic site and open it up for tourists.
For some reason, it seems like New Albany always waits until a historic building is in ruins before someone says,
"oh we should save this building." Then it cost a fortune to save. This is a beautiful building on the hill. If nothing else save the exterior.
I was born in IF and this water tower represents my history of 66 years. I think it was painted red white and blue in 1976, the bicentennial, the year I graduated from high school.
