The local residents of Miller County and beyond have started this petition in order to "Save the Swinging Bridge at Brumley, MO" from being closed permanently. The bridge, known as the Glaize/Auglaize Bridge, was built in 1931 and is eligible for the National Registry of Historic Places. One of our goals is to have the swinging bridge put on the National Registry of Historical Places. Another goal we wish to accomplish is for repairs to be completed in order to keep this historic bridge open to the local traffic in the future. With this swinging bridge being the last original one standing in Miller County, MO, it is important to the local residents to preserve not only the bridge, but the history it contains!
