I grew up across the road from Down Grange and spend many summers playing sports in the fields by Miller and Carter. As an adult I take my children and dogs there frequently. We had a golf course that was sold for development, we have a pitch and putt that’s been sold for development, why should they now destroy an area used by so many families. Make it part of the new development at the leisure park if it’s so important!!
A Golf Club is for the few, the park is for all. I’m sure all the dog walkers, runners and children that play up there will barred from getting near the golf club.
We moved to the countryside and our garden backs onto grazing land. We have hedgehogs that visit the garden every night in the warmer months! I am 50 years old and had rarely seen hedgehogs until 2018! They have easy access to our garden. Please create hedgehog highways. It's been magical to exist with these creatures. What a tragedy if they went extinct!
Sue and the team are doing a vital job and I saw first hand how much a dedicated, specially designed facility will radically help their cause. These kinds of facilities are critical in helping wildlife.
