Too many people rely on Medicaid. We all have the right to health insurance and medical care! I know that with Medicaid I'm able to get my Suboxone that's helped me stay clean, counseling helps me stay sane from my diagnosis/after the abuse I endured (my daughters also), I need physical therapy or I will get worse (I already hate that I'm very work limited)
I am disabled and a 64 year old woman. My only income is SSI after over 20 years on it it's not even $1,000 a month. I also received SNAP benefits and my medical coverage is through Medicaid. Snap does not cover the food I need on my diet. My health issues prescribe what my diet must be. The closest food pantry is open 2 days a week. In March it said we will be closed next Monday but regular hours rule resume. They never reopened on Monday. If it weren't for food pantries I would not have enough food for the month. Food I'm allowed to eat on my diet. Very plain heart healthy, kidney healthy diet.
Why do budget shortfalls have to be balanced on the back of the elderly and the poor? The people who can least afford to lose any of their income or budget? We worked our derriere's off for decades and now we are being treated like excrement. Please restore funding to the poorest among Us and go after the rich to pay their fair share in taxes
I don't like abortions, but I recognize that they are often necessary for the life of the mother or that the fetus is unsound. Moreover, a woman should not be required to carry the fetus of her rapist. A 12 yo little girl should not be required to carry a baby to term. Carrying to term your sister or step sister or brother should not be the role of a child.
Healthcare is a necessity not something to be played with. If you want to give a man the right to sue over a not viable potential life, a woman or family should be able to sue the legislature that contributed to her medical trauma or death related to a pregnancy. Not all women want to become a mother or should for different reasons, this is her decision not yours.
Medical treatment is between a patient and medical provider.
Signed a mother by choice, nurse, and wife by choice.
Women are human beings, not walking incubators. Passing bills like these has never been about the potential children, they are about controlling women and making sure we stay second class citizens.
I lost my mom suddenly in 2016, I was 23 and devastated. She was a single parent who struggled with physical and mental illness her entire life. She was the best mother she could be and I miss her so dearly. That first Mother’s Day in 2016 I was bombarded with notifications not 3 months after her passing. The loss of a parent as a young adult altered my life completely and I feel the ache of her absence every day almost 10 years later. The reminders from our devices and apps reopen my grief every year. We deserve control over what notifications we receive.
