I live just down the street from the siren at the fire station...I can't even hear it when outside unless the wind is blowing in a specific direction, so if I can't hear it when outside, then my family and I can't hear it at all in the house! Considering in the last 4 years we've lived here there have been a good amount of rotations and actual tornados close to this town, I would think the sirens would be much louder and more productive, but it's not. The first time we actually heard it we didn't even know what it was because the sound was so weird that it made. Time they are upgraded and more are added to the area, ESPECIALLY with all of the new housing going in in town, the businesses that are here/coming, etc!
If the village of Jeffersonville cares anything about our small community, saving the lives of the many people who support this village in many ways, then this shouldn’t be an issue to place a tornado siren or two, to where the village will be able to hear it when it comes to life or death. Shouldn’t have to think twice on an issue like this.
If this doesn’t go thru, I guess when it comes to supporting the village next election, my vote would be NO for anything that has to do with Jeffersonville.
I strongly oppose the construction of a gas station and restaurant in our neighborhood.
This development would increase traffic noise and pollution putting the safety and well-being of our families at risk. Our neighborhood is a residential area not a commercial zone and this project would disrupt the peace and character of our community. We need to prioritize green spaces and safe environments for our children not bring in more congestion and environmental risks. They need to consider the people who call this place home.
