Guidance Counselors

Guidance counselors play a crucial role in supporting students academic, social, and emotional well-being. They provide guidance on career choices, mental health issues, and academic planning, helping students navigate the challenges of school and life. Recent trends show an increased focus on mental health support and crisis intervention in schools, elevating the importance of guidance counselors in addressing student needs. Key issues and themes in petitions related to guidance counselors include advocating for smaller counselor-to-student ratios, increased funding for counseling services, and training on diversity and inclusion. Notable petitions highlight the overwhelming caseloads of counselors, limiting their ability to effectively support students. Others emphasize the need for counselors with specialized training to address unique student needs, such as LGBTQ+ youth or students with disabilities. Join the movement to support guidance counselors and ensure every student receives the guidance and support they deserve. Your involvement can make a positive impact on the well-being and success of students in schools.
