I’m a birder who goes to both Serendip and the You Yangs. I want to know what is going to happen to these valuable areas and what environmental protections will be put in place to preserve them for the future.
Kelly supported: SAVE SERENDIP SANCTUARYThis place was a magical memory for me as a child and has been that memory for my children and will be that memory for their children. There has been enough destruction of our natural habitats, animals and birdlife.
Jennifer supported: SAVE SERENDIP SANCTUARYIt is a great shame that the voices of the community, the very people who have worked to protect and preserve the integrity of Serendip for years are ignored by Parks Vic, who are hell bent on changing Serendip from a loved sanctuary with its wildlife, endangered species breeding programs, a place where children and tourists a like could engage and learn, into an open park with no wild life except the occasional kangaroo and a ‘sensory’ garden in one small corner. Their vision is flawed and not what people want. This was expressed clearly in a well attended public meeting. It is a disgrace that Parks Vic refuse to listen and continue to allow the removal of all animals and degradation of the sanctuary. There is nothing to show for the $11 million promised from the government to restore the sanctuary. Parks VIC must be held to account .

Serendip was such a vibrant place one with a school facility and captive breeding programs <br>
It was a haven for wildlife and for visitors<br>
It is heartbreaking to hear the council and parks vic continue to ignore it
