As a wheelchair user that drives a Ramp van independently, this is an issue that effects all my decisions. Where to go and what to do are often dictated by is there available parking. My first question is about parking availability and access.
This is a huge issue that needs to be rectified. It has impacted our family, like so many others. Being able to access public places should not be such a challenge. Disability rights are human rights.
I am a wheelchair user permanently and there is never available parking because regular handicap placards are just about given to anybody . We really need to dedicate the wheelchair spots for wheelchair vans or wheelchair users only
Not only are there not enough spaces made more accessible parking, there are not enough spaces made for vehicles with wheelchair ramps. Too many people need a spot, are unaware what the lines are for, or just don’t care. We need to think of our community members who need ramps to exit their vehicles.
I agree with this petition and have seen the benefits of Autism Spectrum Kits within movie theaters. As a former ABA teacher, I have seen these kits work in real time for clients and students whom would agree movie theaters are more of a stress than a joy. They are effective items and allows many more people access to enjoying the big screen.
