Environmental justice is a critical issue that addresses the disproportionate impact of environmental hazards on marginalized communities. Petitions under this topic advocate for fair treatment and access to a clean and healthy environment for all individuals, regardless of race, income, or location. Key issues include fighting against environmental racism, pollution in low-income areas, and the need for stricter regulations to protect vulnerable populations.
Notable petitions call for stricter enforcement of environmental laws in communities of color, highlighting the prevalence of toxic waste sites and industrial pollution in these areas. Another petition urges corporations to take responsibility for their environmental impact on disadvantaged communities, emphasizing the importance of corporate accountability.

I grew up in the Hudson valley and while I enjoyed fishing and swimming in the river I couldn't eat the fish and who knows what damage I did swimming in the unknown poisons the river contains. It would be nice if future generations didnt have to have it that way.Commercial fishermen could earn some wages if the river could be restored to health. Ordinary citizens probably do eat some migrating fish. It would be wonderful if all could enjoy eating fish from this resource. Its a beautiful area, it would be a real boon to tourism if it can be cleaned further and nearer restoration. Please don't give up on it. Please continue to work on solutions to make it healthy once again. Thank you for your continuing efforts.
I have loved hiking ever since i was a kid and to have that opportunity be taken away for younger generations would be a terrible thing as the Amazon is not the only forest to have these issues.
There have many years of baseball played at this field, my brother and I included. My father coached for many years and it is a field that is close for the children that live in that neoghborhood. We need more sports and activity for our kids. Getting rid of this field will take that from kids.

I grew up playing rec soccer for Pawtucket at Morley Field and it is a shame this park has been closed and neglected and not made accessible to kids now and future!!!
I went to a local clean up here in April, as the community is actively trying to save this space, Condemning this space in Unnecessary
There are so many creative possibilities for this building and site that would honor the history and culture of Denver while keeping this absolute treasure. (Picture turning the smokestack to an outdoor rock climbing tower.) Once it's gone, it's gone forever.
Grew up in Canoga Park from 1962 to 1977. I hiked a lot in those hills, took many bike rides around Chatsworth Res. These women are truly courageous and should be an example to us all in standing up for what's right. I remember the thrill of listening to the F1 engine tests without realizing how toxic that site was. After watching this all I can say is "NASA, BOEING, DOE...do the right thing!" Every year more people get sick and the price to clean up just gets more expensive.
Keep the gathering grounds accessible so that the poeple of the land can feed their ohana’s. We have enough development as it is. I appreciate the raw beauty of the land not residential and commercial buildings.
In 2010, I participated in the Walk for a Nuclear-Free Future that started in Salamanca and ended in New York City. I did about half of the walk. During the walk, we visited the Tonawanda territory. I am very grateful for having had that experience. I remember beautiful wetlands. It’s the DEC’s responsibility to protect the wetlands, as they are fragile. This land needs to remain intact, maybe without a conservation easement?
These wetlands are such a vital part of our local ecosystem. They provide natural hunting grounds, hiking trails, wildlife refuges, and more. This area deserves to thrive, to preserve what we have left of a resource that is shrinking. The destruction of these lands would have a deep, lasting negative impact on our environment.
