It seems ridculous to bury the High tension lines 80% of the way to VOC and then the last 20% through populated and the most scenic above ground. In our 20+ years here we've all ready experienced 2 Forest fires in Pine Valley area, so know it's possible.
Just very lucky to not have lost any lives with those, but damaged property and a home was lost!! All SO VERY frightening.
Pls consider those of us who live and love VOC, before you make a grave mistake not burying the power lines.

Dear APS team
I have significant concern regarding fire hazard with the "Above the Ground" High voltage lines near VOS.
I feel that APS is placing the community at a greater risk for fire - in order to maximize your profits.
The risk of forest fires enhanced by public utility was made evident by fires in California. I have seen the damage causes by forest fires and an on the Firewise Committee of Canyon Mesa in the VOC. We are working to reduce the risk within the community and along the urban/forest interface. The implementation of the APS above ground high voltage lines creates additional risk to the public
Please put the public interest first - and not install the above ground high voltage line
Sincerely

National parks are a place for preservation and appreciation of natural life. Drilling feeds money hungry billionaires unnecessary cash and to propose drilling in a place historically set aside for the opposite is the most disrespectful thing towards the earth and the American people that I can imagine.
I am a former NJ resident and part of a TNR program in the city I lived in and had a small colony that I took care of. I was a NJ resident when this bill first came around. I supported it then as I do now. Community cats need help! And also the advocates for them.
TNR works! I did it years ago in my neighborhood at my own cost. Keeping animals from being born in the wild is a lot easier than trying to keep them fed and healthy.
As a former long time resident of NJ I see the extreme need for low cost spay/neuter. It is so expensive to care for a family/pet. Help with spay/neuter would reduce the animal over population.
I have always been supportive towards policies that preserve our environment. Seeing that park rangers are being fired from their jobs shows that our biggest priorities towards preserving the environment are being destroyed. I want to see change; I don’t want to see a rollback on change!
In 2019, my family had the opportunity to visit Glacier National Park in Montana. The park rangers there were very helpful in providing recommendations for hikes that would fit the ability of our children. We had an amazing time hiking through the forests and seeing the beauty of nature. They helped our kids become junior rangers and talked to us about the plants and animals we might see along the trail. They gave us important information on how to stay safe if we saw a bear and my kids still laugh at me when I remind them that you are supposed to clap your hands and loudly say “Hey Bear” when walking around the corner on a path so as to not surprise a bear.
Park Rangers are important people who provide invaluable services to the greater public and they should be honored and not vilified because people in power want to say they are “saving money” when instead their actions are causing costly damage.
I will always be thankful for the help we have received by Park Rangers at the few national parks we have been able to visit.
