My heat had barely gone above 68 and my January bill is 600$. I have three children to feed. This is outrageous and impossible. I have no idea what else I can unplug to even try to lower my bill.
I am looking into solar this spring.
We cannot continue to face the constantly increasing rates from AEP. This company is consistently granted approval for rate increases and they clearly do not care about the hardships that we already endure. My last electric bill was over $600 and I know some people that are approaching $1000 during these cold winter months. Why are we being asked to pay so much when we are not seeing anything more in return besides the same service and deplorable repair times when the power goes out?
We are struggling as a community and the people who we are supposed to be able to rely on are robbing us of everything we have. And continue to get rate increases. Our people have lost our homes are kids are going without power. We need someone to see us!
My electric bill doubled, then tripled from last year, despite installing new windows, insulation, new plumbing & electrical wiring, etc.
I am on a disability budget and simply cannot afford This!
I live simply; shop at thrift stores and avoid retail. I run my furnace Only!, and it is set at 60 degrees; I would rather layer, than pay a high heating bill, but that doesn’t seem to matter.
I call AP and received the same polite, yet unwavering response as to Why?!
I am 1 person, with a $445.00 electric bill-Somehow?!. Please Stop hurting people and we wonder why humanity itself, is a mess and in turmoil.
Many individuals and families cannot continue to afford basic heating and air due to the incessant increases. We are seniors one of who is disabled and needs heat and air. With these continuous increases we cannot use the service many days due to the costs
As a retiree, I can no longer afford to pay my electric bill and eat. So I am living in a cold (or hot) home and eating very little. I'm fairly certain that Newsom and his rich cronies are trying to force the middle class OUT of California and turn it into an elitist state that can have to themselves. All of the illegal immigrants will be their "slave" class. 4th generation native, here. I'll live in a tent and pay NOTHING before I will leave.
PG&E was responsible for the Tubbs fire that burned my house down. I got a minimal payout from PG&E and then my rates have been raised multiple times. I bought a solar system to reduce my dependence on them and the compensation they pay for excess power has been reduced. They have a monopoly and it's obvious the PUC is in their pocket. This is beyond pathetic. There needs to be competition in power suppliers.
