As a passionate homeschool educator, I encourage Canva to extend free access to Canva for Education to homeschoolers, just as it’s offered to public school teachers. Homeschoolers are dedicated to providing quality education to millions of students, often with limited resources, and would greatly benefit from Canva’s incredible tools to create engaging learning materials. By allowing homeschoolers to access Canva for free, it can empower homeschoolers to inspire creativity in their students. Including homeschoolers would further Canva’s inspiring mission to support all K-12 educators and foster equitable, innovative learning environments. Thank you for considering this opportunity to uplift the homeschooling community!
By profession I have a BA in Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Interactive media. Several of my kiddos are also very gifted in art and design and I have been teaching them along the way. Canva has become a great resource and is one of the leading tools for those starting out (and those who don't have a design bone in their body!). It's beautiful that Canva offers a discount to teachers for their pro version so that additional and premium features can be used within a classroom setting. I urge Canva to allow this opportunity to also include registered homeschool teachers. This would give many students who have the opportunity to devote more study time to design to be able to flourish. MANY companies already include homeschoolers in their teacher discounts, and often simply submitting the state form that verifies this status is all that is needed. Thank you for considering expanding this opportunity to all attested and genuine homeschool teachers. Signed a homeschool Graphic Design Momma!
Homeschoolers are teachers, too. Some of us create groups, run classes for other children, offer tutoring services, plan events for the homeschool community, etc. We are educators who don't receive any payments for teaching our own children, nor are we given handouts from the government. Most homeschooling families only have one working parent, which means we are penny pinching to make sure homeschooling works for our family. Not having to spend money to create an educational flier would be very helpful.
