Coach Charles and his dedication, commitment, and enthusiasm for cheer has had an immeasurable impact on both of my daughters. I have known and worked with Charles for 5+ years. He has proven to be a consistent positive person for my girls to learn from and look up to. There have been good times winning and good life lessons, along with struggles and hard work to overcome obstacles and learn tough lessons. Through all of those lessons, Charles shows up and supports his athletes always to the best of his ability. Losing Coach Charles as our Deltona High cheer coach would have a lasting negative impact on my daughter , especially her high school experience and cheer career.
Trump’s plan to deport immigrants and allow ICE to invade schools, churches, and hospitals is a direct attack on basic human rights. Schools should be a place of learning, not fear. No student should have to worry about being ripped from their education and community. ICE invading these spaces destroys trust, creates trauma, and punishes families just trying to build a better life. We must stand together to resist these policies, protect immigrant students, and fight for a future where education is a right—not a privilege only for those deemed ‘acceptable’ by the government.
This authoritarian government just revoked a permanent green card holder and who is say they will not come after naturalized citizens like me because we can’t criticize Israel for their role in genocide in Gaza? Does first amendment only applies to certain group of people?
This is a clear constitutional rights violation. Today is a Palestinian with a legal permanent resident status, tomorrow would be all of us who are simply exercising our constitutional rights.
First they come for the ones with green cards and visas speaking out, trying to help us. When they, those currently in charge of our government get away with it what's stopping them from taking it to the next step and going after American voices that disagree with them? Respectfully this needs to be stopped in it's tracks. For the continuation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution being upheld for everyone, rich or poor, immigrant or born citizen. Remember the pledge? "We pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, for liberty and justice for all" not for some. All.
I’m a sculptor from California who specializes in political and social satire. Our government wants to deport Muslim student protesters, because our politicians support the cruel, racist, and genocidal policy of Israel. It makes me sick and ashamed to look at the images of Gaza, and the suffering of the children. By silencing the students, our government keeps us from seeing the immorality and criminality of its treatment Palestinian people.
We here at the @RiseAboveJusticeMovement, stand with students all across the country for exercising their First Amendment rights. We stand against oppression in all forms. While we are survivors of sexual and gender based violence, we understand all too well about the direct violations that this Administration has been doing. We will not stay silent. Power to the People, and power to our democracy. Democracy is not a spectator sport, and should not be treated as such. We have the power in our voices, and our communities to be the change, lead the change, and be the voice. We will continue uplifting voices of marginalized communities.

I’m an alum of Columbia University’s Psychological Counseling graduate program (2021) and I’m horrified by the administration’s actions to facilitate ICE and NYPD’s violent actions on campus. It’s abhorrent to watch CU’s lack of solidarity and protection of students who are exercising their rights to free speech, let alone speech that is dedicated to supporting human rights and ending genocidal action.
Free speech is something that makes this country so beautiful. It’s my pleasure to fight for this right even if it means that someone gets to say something I disagree with. It goes hand in hand with the right for me to hang the flag outside of my house to proclaim that I am a patriot and also support my neighbors right to burn this flag. The second we stop fighting for these rights for everyone we become a nation that no longer exists for freedom but one that is living under a dictatorship. We must fight against this tyrannical behavior and be united to protect all citizens we are all equal and deserve the right to disagree with one another but never silence one another. When we do this we threaten the precious rights to liberty that we love.
