The ice plunges are the thing I look forward to the most as they’re one of the few things that truly relieve my back pain. Please don’t end this great event.
I fell in love with this show from the first episode, and have watched the first season several times already. The characters are incredible and feel so real and relatable — they seem like actual people I could meet. In a world where so much media is just remakes and sequels to old things, something this new and unique is so refreshing, and fills a space that has previously been sitting empty. It reminds people of the value of the arts, has fantastic neurodivergent representation, and above all else, highlights how the arts can bring people together. That, to me, is an incredibly important message, and one worth fighting to preserve. I have developed a newfound interest and appreciation for ballet through this show, and have even started learning French. Ètoile is a masterpiece in so many ways, and is important both as statement in the modern world and individually to so many people. Please, do not let this show be lost. Save it, and give it the second season it, and we all, deserve.
This show singlehandedly revived my love for dance. It's painfully ironic that a show focusing on this art form dying is being cancelled after only a month, especially since prime absolutely didn't do enough to advertise it. Shows like Étoile are so incredibly important right now. I know me and so many others felt more seen than we ever have through some of the characters, and only wish we could have more time with them and their stories.
This show is truly phenomenal in every aspect, and is so incredibly beloved by the fans. It especially means a lot to the people who work in the world of art and live entertainment, since most other people don't usually get to see our process and just how much it takes to create the art they love. It's an inspiring reminder for us about why we do what we do and what it means to other people. Since Étoile debuted I have not stopped talking about it, rewatching it, and engaging with other fans over it, because of just how genuinely beautiful the show is. So much care was put into it by the cast and crew, and to cancel it before they've gotten the chance to fully spread their wings and tell their story would be a disservice to artists everywhere.
I thought it was a great show and could have brought a lot more appreciation to ballet. As a dancer myself, ballet is extremely under recognized and a show like this with a second season could have changed the way the arts are perceived.
I’m a mom working hard to pay out of state tuition for my son ‘26 and I have a daughter who is a high school senior who wants to dance in college. She’s choosing between CU Boulder & Oregon and this will be a big factor in her decision. Shocking how many resources are devoted to football basketball and track and they can’t make dance a sport?
Dance itself is an art and a sport. To diminish these dancers opportunities to support a school they love and compete at the level they deserve is unfair and unkind. I hope the university hears the voices of others and gives the dance team the flowers they deserve.
Dance is not only a sport but an art. Let these athletes that work so hard to be seen, showcase themselves at this level. UDA is a dream many people want to achieve, and taking this away from these students is cruel.!
After developing many dancers over the years, Cami being one of many who have gone off to college to support a collegiate dance team. Yes it’s a performance opportunity for these students, health, teamwork, community, strength, workout, are just a few focuses that these dancers have to develop 5+ days of the week. It is no different than any other sport, and most all of my dancers did other sports and they’ll be the first ones to say, dance is all encompassing and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. The other colleges that support their dance teams are making a great decision, knowing if you have a strong community of dancers, it develops your students into an even better individual in life. In return makes your university stronger because the students want to be there and support their school. I pray that this gets turned, as these students and all there hard work deserves to be recognized and rewarded.
Dance truly is a sport…. To see all the other BIG 10 schools getting support from their University is so incredible. U of O was the only team not recognized by their own school. These girls bleed yellow and green and hold countless clinics to help promote the love of dance, lift up young women and men, and recruit students to their program. They deserve this!
