I’ve grown up around indigenous communities all my life. They are engrained in the fabric of this country and this land has always been and always will be theirs. The basis of Canada was to be a mosaic of culture for people around the world to come here and be safe and happy. Instead I am seeing fear and hatred. This is not what Canada is supposed to be, we should be looking to the future while remembering and reconciling with our past. Danielle Smith is destroying that and we as Albertans and as Canadians will not stand for it.

He would weep if he knew Alberta is heading in this direction. His ancestors were here before the Europeans knew how to navigate to come here. They lived, walked, hunted and died here. There are treaties that have been signed and are binding. Canadas veterans fought and died in order to keep Canada whole. How dare people think that this can be broken.

With this federal election that recently took place, it has brought out a lot of racist individuals. Danielle’s voice also seems to give these people a “valid” reason to discriminate more. I have even being receiving actual threats that threaten my life and my children’s because of die hard conservatives.
I also have a strong belief system in support of indigenous peoples.
