Music is what encourages some students to engage in school! For many students, music is what makes school meaningful. Extracurriculars like band and choir often give students a reason to come to school and stay engaged with their education. Mr. Knudson has had an amazing impact on my children, and I love his engagement with the kids. Losing a music teacher is hard to reverse, and we need to keep the momentum in building social, emotional skills in the children of PLSAS. Music offers students a healthy emotional outlet and helps reduce stress. In a time when mental health is a major concern in schools, cutting music would remove a vital source of emotional support. PLSAS has a very strong music presence , and making classrooms larger for the students will not benefit them or the teachers. SAVE THE TEACHERS!!!
Mrs. Knudson has really impacted my love for band and in the best way possible. Whenever I see his smile, I feel this warmth in my body. He really directed me toward the right path and will always be there to support me and my friends.
Mr. Knudson is a valuable asset to the community. he has left an impact on so many people— fellow colleagues, students, and musicians— and losing him in the school district would be a loss of all the contributions he brings just by being himself.
SAVE MR. KNUDSON. Mr. Knudson is the first teacher that has impacted my life so much. He was the one to give me an opportunity to play in the 24-25 HOMS Jazz Band, playing a bass guitar. 🎸 He is one of the only teachers that takes the time in the hallway to come say hi. #savemrk
I only had Mr. Knudson for Jazz Band this year, but it made the season very enjoyable. Everyone cheers when we enters a room and the atmosphere always rises. The thought of new generations of kids not having that same music experience makes me sad, so let’s keep him here.
Mr. Knudson has been a key member in choir and band. I’m sure that if he gets let go, all of us kids will not go to school for the next few days and will rally for him to come back. He has been an amazing teacher and leader and I thank him for being there for all of us when no one else wanted to be. He has been with us for only a short time but for us, it’s felt like years.
He is the one who makes sure us kids can do afterschool choir and band activities. He did our Carols Crew in December when no one else wanted to. He deserves to stay here with us!!!
Music is a powerful educator and these cuts affect more than just one person. Matt is a light for his students, and the content he teaches them not only teaches them music skills, but life skills. He makes a huge impact and deserves to be supported. Save Music programs and save Mr. Knudsen’s job!
