As many people that have attended Weber State University or have been part of the music program over the past 4 years may know, we have not had a steady director of bands for more than a year at a time. That has caused our band program to drastically shrink and lose the sense of pride that many had being a part of the program.

This year Professor Hendricks was hired on as a temporary band director and he grew the program in a very short amount of time and instilled a sense of pride in the members of the band. He is amazing at recruiting, this year for our marching band experience day we had more high school students come than we have seen in the last decade. The honor band this spring also had more high school students than we have seen come to this school. He makes the band members proud to say that they are a part of the Weber State Band program and strive for excellence.

I know that if we get a new band director for the next school year that the band program will take a devastating hit to its attendence and culture of excellence.

 Let us as students and members of the band have our voices be taken into consideration on who will run our program for once.
