Laws need to change to better reflect the value of animals as living beings and not just objects or property. Animals (all animals) deserve the same rights as humans. The only difference between us and them is that they don't have a voice.
We need to put an end to animal cruelty. This starts with high kill shelters. A shelter is supposed to be a safe place for a dog not a place where a dog is put on a timeline for execution. These kill shelters are inhumane cruel. They are killing dogs merely for space, they are killing babies, pregnant dogs, senior dogs, and healthy, beautiful dogs. California, Texas and Arizona shelters all need to be charged with animal cruelty. Dogs and cats provide us with unconditional love, they trust us and we need to be the voices that save their lives. I do not know what our society has come to people are heartless and cruel. My heart aches every day knowing that so many innocent dogs are being killed. How is this legal?
This matters because 1,000s of healthy animals are put down each day to make room for others even if they are not healthy enough to be adopted and they should have shelters to help the healthy and the sick
Stop with the euthanasia of dogs. We all deserve to live!!
If I have to pledge to donate adoption fees for one dog per week just to save him or her I will do it!
Texas is killing mothers and puppies, we need this to stop immediately.
Help them please stop the kill shelters!!!
This center was a huge part of my childhood and it’s heartbreaking to find that it is no longer a great place for animals. Tax payer funded animal neglect and abuse is not okay!!
I would like an explanation for this bear cub extermination by TN. I don't live in your state but I've spent time there and tourist money there. This is unacceptable to kill cubs with no testing on some to see if they were even sick, the others had been treated and no signs of further illness. I'm tired of bears being treated in such a way, they are important to many people. One of the things I enjoyed touring through your state was seeing the bears, the highlight of my trips. I love bear watching they bring so much joy. Bears and humans can coexist if humans are willing. I hope you do not do this again without speaking to the Rescue and considering their input. Please rethink your policies.
13 black bear cubs were euthanized ftom our local bear rescue last week In Townsend TN by TWRA. We are heartbroken and sickened by this senseless brutal act. These were healthy bears well cared for awaiting release back into the wild. TWRA FELT they could be infected with a virus. However NEVER tested. No government agency such as TWRA have the power perform such a horrible act without the evidence to prove these bears were infected first. Im enraged and saddened, please hold these individuals accountable.
As a frequent visitor who spends a good deal of tourist money in TN, I will not be visiting again until the murder of 13 innocent bear cubs by TWRA is thoroughly investigated and those responsible be held accountable. Reforms must be enacted to ensure such a tragedy never occurs again.
The fact that these 13 cubs were in care of a very experienced rescue, ABR and set to be released into the wild soon makes the killing senseless as well as EVIL.
I have been following and supporting ABR for years and am horrified at what TWR just did to these 13 bear cubs. I would like to see all of the information that led to the decision to kill healthy cubs because of the possibility of illness. Where are the tests that prove that these cubs were a danger? Why was ABR not a part of the decision making process? I have visited Tennessee and loved it, but I will certainly be watching closely to see answers to these questions before I will ever visit TN again. I will continue to support ABR for the great work that they do.
Because 100% of people being evicted or finding themselves HOMELESS with ZERO SUPPORT SYSTEM except their beloved pet are traumatized by their situation and therefore eligible for their pet to be designated as an EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL which ARE ALLOWED IN SHELTERS as a REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION even though Suffolk forces poor people that can't afford Attorney's to a Fair Hearing - KNOWING that the person with the MD note is the one with the RIGHT'S. They make it so difficult that people resort to tents in the freezing cold and live in sheds in people's backyards just to not be separated from their beloved furry family members. HOUSING FIRST is the way to go!!! Give the KEY - Encourage the JOB and JOB TRAINING and as people build their own support system - slowly take away the subsidies. Even BIRDS have a NEST to go home to. HOUSING FIRST IS HUMAN, and NECESSARY for anyone to THRIVE instead of DIVE ..........into a deep depression.
