Petition to Eastern York Athletic Board
Eastern York Needs An Elementary Youth Wrestling Team. Sign this if you agree!
Central York recently voted a new rule change within their youth wrestling program. They will no longer allow out of district wrestlers to practice on their youth team. This has left about 15 young Eastern York wrestlers without a place to call "their home team" for this next season and beyond. K-6th grade, Youth / Elementary aged kids are effected by this change. Eastern York is one of the only schools in York without a youth wrestling program that also competes in the York County Youth Wrestling League. For years, anyone interested in wrestling has joined another schools youth program. Many of the Eastern Wrestlers that you hear of that do very well in HS started their wrestling careers long before 7th grade, and attended one of these other schools youth programs. With the right coaching and parenting, burnout can easily be overcome in this sport. But it requires a school system to support the effort for all ages. There should be a coaching curriculum derived by the HS coach that can be used on the young wrestlers so that they are groomed and prepared for the HS coaches curriculum. If we had a youth program for Eastern, our HS team will improve over the years to come. We would be the feeder program into the HS. The solution to Central's decision for our Eastern kids is to finally take the jump and start a youth program. PA is the center of the entire USA in regards to wrestling. We need to take the current "youth program" that Eastern offers and take it to the proper level. That is the solution. Right now these kids go through this small afterschool program at Eastern thinking they are prepared to compete in open tournaments. They are not prepared, usually take a tough loss at their first competition, and then want to give up due to frustration and not winning. This leads to burnout and quitting. The York League coaches hand pick matches for every single kid in the league. This gets the child more evenly matched competition to start earning that confidence that comes with the right experience on the mat. If we win and start this team, EY Wrestling will grow to a level that has never been reached in the history of the school. If we lose, our kids will continue to go to other schools youth programs. They will come to Eastern HS very prepared, but will be tossed into a curriculum that equals that of what they went through at 4,5,6 years of age. They are too qualified for the inexperienced group of 7th graders the team usually consists of--mostly first year wrestlers while these kids already have 6-7 years experience on the mat. I have 3 kids that wrestle, all started to practice at 4 years old. My oldest is a state champion from Indiana, my second son was this years York County Champion, and my 3rd wrestler just finished her first year pinning boys along the way while raising money for PIN Cancer. Her donations raised went toward finding a cure for cancer. My kids along with quite a few other Eastern kids actually competed and battled within the Central Team, so much in fact they had to vote to keep out of district wrestlers off the team because so many Eastern kids were taking that "varsity" spot on the competitive Duals Team. Our Eastern kids actually took up a little over HALF of the entire Central Duals Team. Imagine what we could do if we were wrestling for our TRUE home, Eastern York! Also, there's a glimpse into the potential this club could do. When was the last time Eastern closely competed against a team like Central? These are the same boys that would be competing at the HS age together. If we were to wrestle them head to head, using this combined youth team as an example, we already have half of the matches locked up! Our Eastern kids are already beating kids from Central to earn that spot on the Dual team. We have everything we need except for the community that we live in. We need your support. Please help us to develop the foundation our kids need to be able to take competing in a sport that they love to an opportunity for a college scholarship. Please help our Eastern boys to be able to wrestle in the singlet that they should be wearing. One with a golden knight logo. Not a Central or Suburban or Red Lion or Red Land or Hanover or etc.....the list goes on. All the other schools have this. I understand the Eastern HS team is highly respected, along with the coaching staff. The idea of this club is only to help them with their goals. We certainly are not looking to change or replace that team. And we have the resources to be able to do this without taking away from the HS team. We just need the community to show that our school needs this. And we need the support from the HS team and coaches and athletic board. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Taking a kid to states every few years is certainly an accomplishment. But why stop there? Let's set a goal to start bringing 5 kids to PA States every year. Eastern has never had a PA wrestling state champion. This petition could change that forever. Right now, today, we could be on the path to changing that. If you want to see a golden knight standing on the #1 spot with PIAA gold around his neck, then please sign this petition. Thanks, and God Bless. These kids deserve way more than what our community is currently providing for them. Although the team was recently knocked down due to the news from Central, we are in perfect position to hit a blast double and get back into the match. We need a place to call home though and we all want that place to be Eastern. Please help me to show our community leaders that I am not the only one that feels this way. I'm not asking for money, time, help from your family, or even anything to change for our current MS and HS teams. I'm simply asking for a signature to show that you support the idea of a youth team being started and connected to Eastern York Schools. Let's go Wrestlers, and let's go Eastern Golden Knights! I have my own children and the kids of around 10 Eastern families that want to do this and grow our community by doing it. Help these kids out and sign your name to say WE WANT YOUTH WRESTLING! This is a sport that teaches our young men and women to become better men and women, from inside to out. Wrestling makes people become better versions of themselves. Those are the kind of people that I want to raise in our community, because one day they will be the ones running it. Let's get them the right foundation to be prepared to do that for ALL our futures together. Thank you for your support. These kids are not shy from hard work. I can assure you they would wear that Golden Knight with pride on their singlet. Show us your support and sign your name! Thank you for supporting our great group of kids. They have bright futures ahead of them, let's turn the spotlight on them right now and support them all the way to those hefty goals in front of them!

Save Boise State Wrestling
Boise State University just announced that it is cutting its wrestling program, effective immediately. The Bronco wrestling program has been molding young men since 1959 and wrestling has a strong following in the Boise area and in the state of Idaho.Boise State had one of the top wrestling programs in the country up until a few years ago. The program was top-ten ranked in 2010-11 and had an NCAA finalist that season (and again in 2013). Since 1999, it has produced two NCAA champions, four NCAA finalists, two Olympians, 25 All-American honors, and six Pac-10 team championships. But the Boise State wrestling program doesn't just build winning wrestlers; it gives young men the foundation to be winners at life!! Coach Mendoza, Riley Orozco, Levi Jones, Andrew Hochstrasser are exactly the type of young men I would want molding my son if he wrestled for them.If you don't know me, my name is Kevin Wood. I've been involved in wrestling for 50 years, 30 of them as a coach. I wrestled at Boise State University from 1979-82 and coached the high school wrestling teams at Mountain View, Eagle, Centennial, and Meridian. Wrestling is the purest sport of intensity, endurance, mental toughness, camaraderie and simply "finding your true potential" sport that I have ever participated in. I owe the greatest moments and people in my life to the sport of wrestling. Every time I walk in and watch the BSU wrestlers work out, I am in awe of the hard work, determination, and true heart these guys put in every single day. A college wrestling room is truly "a jungle" of blood. sweat, incredible mental toughness and aspiring young athletes who don't know the word QUIT!! It is everything that is right about college athletics!! I didn't know much about the new Boise St. wrestling coaches when they were hired last year so I gave Head Coach Mike Mendoza a call before he even moved here last year and welcomed him. In the past year, I've come to know him much better and have an incredible amount of respect for Coach Mendoza and his entire staff!! To put it simply, "they get it"!! They want to build a national caliber wrestling program but they are more concerned with turning out outstanding young men first and foremost.I know wrestling and I know good coaches. The new staff are outstanding coaches!! They are teaching these young men all of the right things. Work ethic, honor, integrity, being a competitor, being good citizens. I've watched their coaches first hand many times when I stop by after work, and each and every day the end of their practice was emphasized the mantra of "being a good person while being a good competitor!!!! Although Boise State has said it is eliminating the wrestling program to make way for baseball, this shouldn't be a competition between baseball and wrestling. There is no need to pit two great sports against each other. Baseball is a great sport. So is wrestling. If you know me, have heard of me, have been a wrestler, know a wrestler, respect wrestling, please voice your opinion to let Curt Apsey and Bob Kustra at Boise State know that this not right!! I urge Boise State President Bob Kustra, Athletic Director Curt Apsey, and the Idaho State Board of Education to reconsider this huge mistake.
Petition to Google, Inc
YouTube: Remove Wrestling from "Offensive Content" List!
THE DISCLAIMERS I'm both a huge wrestling fan and an indy booker. I love wrestling. There, we're covered. EDIT: Should anyone find any factual inaccuracies in the petition, in either the story told or my reasoning, don't hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. THE SETUP On March 2017, YouTube underwent changes to its algorithm. You know, the piece of code that decides how content is organized, which videos appear on searches first and - most importantly here - what content is fit for advertisers. This came on the heels of a potentially big advertisers' boycott of YouTube, as many learned their ads were running in videos that contained and featured several forms of hate speech, among other inappropriate content. For the record, there's nothing wrong with that. Hate speech deserves nothing but 100 times the reception John Cena got at the Hammerstein Ballroom at One Night Stand. THE PROBLEM YouTube's algorithm (which is still being worked on) seems to broadly consider pro wrestling inappropriate content. While I don't particularly enjoy watching Stephanie McMahon slap and emasculate wrestlers, I wouldn't call it inappropriate content. And I certainly wouldn't put it on the same level as racially or politically-motivated hate speech. If pro wrestling were that inappropriate, it wouldn't run on platforms like the USA Network. The changes made by YouTube are, I believe, exaggerated. THE CONSEQUENCES The pro: YouTube avoids an advertiser exodus. The con: YouTubers, Internet businesses and even big companies that work on topics like video gaming, social issues and our near and dear pro wrestling, are losing the revenue previously channeled to them by YouTube's advertisers. Why? Because the advertisers don't want their ad money on "inappropriate content". Several wrestling promotions have openly stated this course of action by YouTube had a very real impact on their ability to do business. At the top of the list, is WhatCulture and its WCPW brand, which made clear it was cancelling its WCPW Loaded tapings - which are broadcast via YouTube - and attributed the cancellation to YouTube's changes. The changes not only make it virtually impossible for them to receive money from ads on their videos, but also make it harder for them to be found by users - YouTube has also launched a "Restricted Mode" feature, designed to "protect" users from inappropriate content. According to Cageside Seats, other indy companies, like AIW and Beyond Wrestling, have also pointed out problems and difficulties arising from these changes. THE BOTTOM LINE While I certainly wouldn't want my own money for video ads to be used in the middle of videos promoting racism, I fail to see how an ad before/during a bad ass promo segment or a potential match-of-the-year performance doesn't provide a viable and engaging platform for advertising. (See amount of commercials that run during WWE Raw on the USA Network.) WCPW recently uploaded a totally free Rey Mysterio/Alberto El Patron match, which drew over 1 million viewers. But only $43 in ad revenue. For the entertainment level they are providing, WhatCulture Pro Wrestling and many other hard-working promotions deserve a return becoming of the content they put out - and the views it has the ability to generate. MY WISH AND MY PETITION I think it's only a matter of time until YouTube realizes pro wrestling is NOT inappropriate content. Their changes are, after all, a work in progress. But why wait? Why wait when wrestling promotions are feeling the crunch RIGHT NOW? Why don't we just take the question to YouTube. RIGHT NOW. SIGN MY PETITION And let's get wrestling promotions some money for their hard-earned work inside and outside the ring.Thank you.

Induct Chyna into the WWE Hall of Fame
The purpose of this petition is to support an international grassroots campaign to see former WWE superstar Joanie "Chyna" Laurer inducted into WWE's prestigious Hall of Fame. Immediately upon her debut in February 1997, Chyna was dubbed the "Ninth Wonder of the World," a one-of-a-kind mix of villainess and fan favorite with an unmatched display of pure domination. Chyna's impressive physique and her naturally commanding presence allowed her the rare ability to go toe-to-toe with some of wrestling's most legendary male performers including Stone Cold, Kane, Mankind, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Jericho. Up until that point, a female actively competing with men (and winning) was something the wrestling industry had never seen before. This was just one of many "firsts" Chyna accomplished for women superstars. In October 1999 at WWF's No Mercy, Chyna defeated Jeff Jarrett to win the Intercontinental Championship. That night she became a bonafide icon and went on to enjoy two more successful runs as Intercontinental Champion. In WWE's 35 year history, Chyna is still the only female to hold the Intercontinental Championship. Apart from that record-setting accomplishment, Chyna was also the first female to compete in the Royal Rumble match and qualify for the King of the Ring tournament. She is also the only female to ever be named the #1 contender for the biggest prize in sports entertainment: the WWE Heavyweight Championship. With a rich and detailed history facing men in the ring it's often overlooked that Chyna is WWE's only undefeated Women's Champion - having battled remarkable female performers like Ivory and Molly Holly and Hall of Famer's like Lita and Trish Stratus. We understand any criticism or hesitation to induct Joanie Laurer into the Hall of Fame. Despite this, we want WWE to know that the Chyna we remember is a woman who defined history, defied stereotypes and created a legacy that is as fresh and curious as the day she left in 2001. Sadly, I am updating this petition to account for the fact that Joanie "Chyna" Laurer passed away at her home in California in April 2016. Our goal now with this petition is for WWE to finally celebrate Chyna's triumphs and stand with us in full support and encouragement to add this trailblazing wonder into the WWE Hall of Fame. In late 2015, a kickstarter campaign was successfully funded to help shoot a documentary titled "The Reconstruction of Chyna," detailing Joanie's life and career; although she did not live to experience it, we would love to see this documentary include Chyna's induction into the Hall of Fame. Please sign this petition, tweet @WWE and @VinceMcMahon, email email@example.com, or call WWE Headquarters directly at (203) 352-8600! We have waited 15 years+ to see this electrifying icon recognized and the time is now. Long live the 9th Wonder of the World. #Chyna #RIPChyna #ChynaHOF #TeamChyna

Bring Back WWE Ice Cream Bars
Why Ice Cream Bars? If you grew up in the late 80's all the way up until the mid 2000's you might remember the WWE/F Ice Cream Bars. Each bar came in a brightly colored box featuring all the big names in wrestling history. Names like Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, "The Macho Man" Randy Savage, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena, etc, have all graced these delicious treats. In 2009 Good Humor and WWE discontinued these amazing treats much to the dismay of many fans. Since they've been discontinued, the demand for these ice cream bars are higher than ever. Will We Ever See Them Again? Over the course of almost 10 years, WWE continues to tease the return of these treats. They've gone as far as to give the fans a recipe to make the ice cream bars themselves back in 2008. Most fans who tried it however, were unsuccessful. In 2011, former WWE Superstar Cm Punk, had a t-shirt featuring a WWE Ice Cream Bar on it. He claimed to have been "working on" getting the frozen treats back, but since then Punk has left the WWE and our hopes for WWE Ice Cream Bars seemed crushed. So the question remains, will we ever see them again? Merchandise Sales Each WWE Ice Cream bar, came in a box plastered with WWE Superstars all over the box. In most cases, the boxes came with a card on the side that you could punch out to keep.(I still have a few) Other times, the boxes came with cutouts of WWE Superstars that you could put on display anywhere. These ice cream bars originally sold for around $3-4, depending on where you picked them up at. With the high demand for these, WWE can easily make $4-5 off of just one ice cream bar, and they will sell fast. WWE's current roster features some of the biggest and best athletes to date. Superstars such as AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Samoa Joe, and many more that they can easily place on the ice cream bars or even the boxes. It's been nearly 10 years since anyone has tasted the sweet taste of those WWE Ice Cream Bars and the money WWE would pull in from this would be amazing due to the high demand. If I'm not mistaken, these were only available in The U.S. With the amount of fans WWE has in this era, they can easily expand these treats on a global scale. What Can You Do To Help? By signing this petition, you not only help us relay this message to WWE, you bring thousands of fans, one step closer to WWE Ice Cream Bars. It's been nearly 10 years since anyone has had a WWE Ice Cream bar and this petition will let WWE know that we will not rest. We will not give up, until our voices are heard. You can also share this petition after you signed it to help get as many signatures as we can. You're help will not go unnoticed as you will be helping many of thousands of people get back something that Good Humor and WWE took away from us in 2009.

Induct Frank "Bruiser Brody" Goodish into the WWE HOF class of 2017!
Frank "Bruiser Brody" Goodish was the quintessential brawler who could match up with the very best grapplers in the history of Professional Wrestling! Bruiser Brody was old school. He was widely known for connecting with his fans in the crowd. He was arguably the most entertaining professional wrestler of his day. After being discovered by fellow wrestler Ivan Putski in San Antonio Texas, Frank "The Hammer" Brody was on his way to Legendary status. After beating the famous Rocky Johnson (yes that Rocky Johnson) for the Florida State Heavyweight Title, Killer Kowalski saw him working and scooped him up and took "The Hammer" back with him to New York to begin working in the WWWF for the McMahon family. Soon after, Vince McMahon Sr. changed his ring name to "Bruiser Frank Brody" and the Legend was born! Brody was alleged to have been in a shoot with minority owner & wrestler in the WWWF Gorilla Monsoon and Brody was given his walking papers. Actually, it was his flying papers because Brody found himself wrestling in New Zealand & Australia and he began to sharpen his craft! 2 years passed and Fritz Von Erich brought Brody back to the states. Brody would develop a friendship with the family & the promotion that would be his base for the next decade with the Von Erich's and World Class Wrestling. Now Brody's star was shining bright. He was an imposing figure, he was big & massive, he was powerful, vicious, he became more frightening with every "HUSS, HUSS, HUSS" he growled. Brody became the biggest pro wrestling draw from territory to territory world wide seemingly overnight. His brawling style was hardcore before there was hardcore. He helped innovate the wrestling scene in countless ways from being known as one of the toughest men in the industry, to taking the action from the ring into the crowds, being a monster, refusing to job to anyone, to having creative control, to beating down his opponent until he earned Brody's respect, to not staying in one territory too long, to becoming one of the bloodiest bladers in the industry! Brody became a super hero of sorts, a super human while working in Japan in singles matches, or winning championships with tag-team partner & best friend and HOF'er Stan Hansen. Brody reached unparalleled success, fortune & fame working for Shohei Baba & Antonio Inoki in the land of many islands. He made his entrance to the ring to Led Zepplin's "Immigrant Song" as the Japanese looked in awe as Brody approached swinging his chain or 2x4. Some of Brody's wildest, roughest, & bloodiest feuds were against Bruno Sammartino, Abdullah the Butcher, Kamala, The Funk brothers, Ric Flair, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Giant Baba, Dick the Bruiser, Nick Bockwikel, Wahoo McDaniels, Black Jack Mulligan and many, many more. Bruise was the master at making the fans think & believe that what they saw was real! He was the most in demand wrestler of his era! Brody really understood the business. He had great psychology. He was always thinking about how to get the fans back week after week. His mic work could scare you or shock you with his eloquence. He was one of the greatest in-ring story tellers ever! He could get a near epic match out of who ever he faced! It's safe to say that Bruiser Brody was the godfather of hardcore wrestling! So, please join me in petitioning the WWE, and Vince McMahon to induct Frank "Bruiser Brody" Goodish into the WWE HOF class of 2017 !!! We aren't stopping at 100 signatures, we want as many as we can possibly get! Lets get it done !!! Finally, after signing the petition, please go to Facebook page"Bruiser Brody Hardcore Before There Was Hardcore" and join our awesome group. Please leave us a comment and let us know that you signed the petition. Thanks so much !!! Please sign this petition: tweet @WWE and @VinceMcMahon,@TripleH #BestForBusiness, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call WWE Headquarters directly at (203) 352-8600 right now, or do both !!!

Help Sammy become a Warrior Award recipient
There's a little girl named Sammy who's been battling Cancer (& is hanging on). During her battle, she got to meet some wrestlers like Ring Of Honor superstars, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, The Villain Marty Scrull, & the Women Of Honor stars (including Sumie Sakai). We've lost a lot of children to Cancer (including 8 year old Connor "The Crusher" Michalek, & Elijah Mainville "Drax Shadow"). Both those young men were WWE fans. Connor got to meet certain WWE superstars like his favorite Daniel Bryan, & become a recipient of the Warrior's Award at the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony. Sammy is a strong fighter, & will never give up until the battle is won. With her being so brave & tough, I'm starting this petition because I want her to be a recipient of the Warrior's Award at WWE's next Hall Of Fame ceremony because if anyone deserves it, it's her. Need as many signatures as possible to get the word out, & receive more help & support on getting this tough & brave young woman into the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony as a recipient of the Warrior's Award because Sammy (is) a Warrior.
