Victories in Children

I believe in science. I am a registered nurse. Vaccines have been vital in giving our children the ability to survive childhood. You only have to go to any graveyard and see the infants and children that did not survive influenza, diphtheria, polio and measles. Have you seen an iron lung? I have and I will never forget it. Just as I will never forget the sound of a cough of an infant with diphtheria. In your heart you know the value of vaccines. Vote with your heart for vaccine access for all.
laurie supported: Restore Funding for Vaccines for Vulnerable Children
This (and a 20mph speed limit) should have been implemented in 2011 after Eleanor was hit by a car while wearing head to toe hi-viz. Beach Road has many vulnerable pedestrians eg nursery school kids, local primary school kids and vulnerable adults. Absolute no-brainer to do this.
Linda supported: Implement Child-Safe Road Crossing for Beach Road
This has been the number one problem in my life for almost the last 10 years and I know I’m not alone
David supported: Establish Rights for Targeted Parents Post-Divorce
It is scary that there are so few signatures for this petition! I was hit constantly, sometimes severely as a child, and what it taught me was to have no respect for my now thankfully deceased excuses for deranged parents. It left me with a lifetime of Anxiety and other issues. Violence solves nothing. If an Adult were to hit another then it is classed as a Criminal Offence, yet however it is deemed to be acceptable for a Parent or other family member to hit a Child. There is never any excuse to physically punish Children.
Miranda supported: Protect children: End the physical punishment of children across the UK
as a minor, children should have the right to feel safe in their homes around their parents/carers. adults don’t realise we’re human too. you wouldn’t hit an old lady so you shouldn’t hit an innocent 5-year-old either

I had my children to care and nurture them for their individual needs , not to hand over the control of decision making to the government when they are of school age. I feel this is damaging, penalising the children that are in loving homes. Our children aren’t machines and shouldn’t penalise for attendance when sick or struggling. Nor should be celebrated for 100%attendance to make other children feel bad about themselves for being sick.
Felicity supported: Oppose the Implementation of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill
I am deeply concerned that the bill undermines parental rights and places an excessive administrative burden on families without evidence of widespread issues in the home education community. Parents are best placed to decide what is in the best interests of their children, and the current proposals risk compromising the flexibility and individuality that make home education effective for so many learners.

They are my children and no one wants best for them than I do. This bill is solely an attack on our parental rights. Using the death of a poor girl that was failed by government services as usual as a front for this bill which is disgraceful. This poor girl was a child IN SCHOOL under social services and failed again and again. This is nothing to do with the safety of children because the government are not safe for children. This is about control. Schools are also not safe spaces for a majority of children and if they are not thriving they are not receiving an education. If the government can’t protect the children already in school and being reported how is this bill going to help? It is not nor do they care for their safety or they would sort out the failing schools and government organisations before ever proposing to infringe on our rights! There are thousands of children out of school waiting for school places and the government are doing nothing to source these children places so why are they again overstepping into parental rights and responsibility? They also didn’t care about them during lockdown it’s only when it coincides with an agenda that it is manipulated to seem like you are trying to help. There are some very concerning points to this bill.

This is shameful of our politicians. This family are already facing the hardest and most painful time of their lives, without the government making it worse. We are a compassionate country and on top of that, Sunil was a net contributor to our country, we should be supporting them not kicking them out, especially when questions are still to be answered about whether he was given the level of care he should have had in our NHS. His wife has a right to have her questions answered, as part of helping her come to terms with his untimely loss. I very much hope the home secretary does the human thing and not play politics with a young family's trauma. I wholeheartedly support this petition and will do anything I can to help see it fulfilled in full.
