Dear South African Government and Health Department.

With COVID-19 cases becoming more and more In South Africa, you have promised us that you would do everything you can to contain the virus and prevent it from spreading beyond control. We all know, I presume you as well, that the only way of preventing this is for people to get themselves tested when showing any relevant symptoms and suspect they might have the virus so that they can take safety measurements and not pass it on to those whom they would have come in contact with.

You also know that SA is a developing country and that more than 30.4 million people live in poverty, that is 55.5% of our entire population. And with our economy falling apart. Even the middle class people are struggling to stay afloat. 

Yet you, our government and Health Department are expecting people to pay between R1200 and R1400 for a COVID-19 test per person. How do you expect us to contain COVID-19 if more than 50% of people can't afford to get tested? 

MAKE COVID-19 TESTING FREE FOR ALL SOUTH AFRICANS.

We know that everything costs money, but THIS IS A PANDEMIC. Please realise that and give everyone access to the test to prevent a national health disaster in SA.
