Too many vehicles speed down Britannia Street, Shepshed, therefore traffic calming measures need to be put in place for the safety of the community. I requested for traffic calming measures in 2020, after I almost got mowed down by a van when myself and my partner was on the path whilst pushing our baby in her pushchair however, I was advised that not enough accidents/ incidents had been reported for measures to be taken.

We have to wait for accidents to happen before prevention measures are put in place.

There is a primary school on the corner and an accident waiting to happen isn't good enough.

I am requesting for a speed restriction of 20 mph as well as a zebra crossing to be placed down Britannia Street or possibly a one way system. Or even better, a crossing, a speed bump and a speed camera! Something to enable the community of Shepshed to cross the road safely.
