Mark Laita is a photographer who has been running the channel "Soft White Underbelly" for over six years now. The purpose of the channel is to interview people in extremely unfortunate circumstances that has drastically affected their life. Many of the interviewee's are homeless, addicted to drugs, struggling from mental diseases, etc. Their stories are inspiration for every single one of Mark's nearly four million subscribers, some of whom have been in the exact same situation as the people being interviewed. 

The platform Mark gives his interviewee's is not just important for the viewers of the video, but also for the person interviewed themselves. Many times, you can find the person being interviewed in the comments section of the channel expressing the gratitude they have for all the wonderful and amazing support other people have expressed in the comments section. They finally have been able to get their story out and tell other people what not to do or how they can get out of the same situation they have unfortunately found themselves in. 

Mark has been doing his best to run this channel and still make money to cover his own expenses and the cost of this endeavor while still being able to provide his subscribers these stories at no cost to the viewer. However, YouTube has decided to consistently demonetize his videos, severely hindering his ability to make the money necessary to continue to undergo this project of his. 

It is an absolute shame that YouTube has done what it has to harm this channel. Mark is undergoing an amazing project to give the unfortunate a platform to speak to millions and be vulnerable. He provides them a place to finally feel safe. Mark has sadly, but understandably, has been forced due to YouTube's demonetization to put some of his interviews behind a paywall. This paywall is keeping these people's voices from being heard. 

YouTube, stop demonetizing Mark's channel. Mark's content and their stories are not hurting anyone. Let Mark make a living to keep doing what he can to help these less-than-fortunate people. Let them be heard. Let people learn from them. Let people hear their stories. Let their stories help others.
