Ban Nikocado Avocado from Youtube

The Issue

If you are someone who uses Youtube regularly, you may have seen a man with a channel called Nikocado Avocado. If you have only happened to see the thumbnails, you may think that he is just another mukbang youtuber, like many others on the platform. Now, for a lot of his videos, this is true. His content romanticises and encourages extreamly unhealthy eating and obesity. However, this isn't even the worse thing that comes from his channel. It has become gradually more prominent that he and his husband are in a very abusive relationship. Whilst this would normally be a scenario in which the viewers feel empathy for the person, this case is slightly different. Instead of him mentioning his struggles with a toxic relationship or working through trying to get divorced with the intent to help others, he monetizes and gains attention from it.

He and his husband will collab across his multiple channels; doing videos that show them verbally and sometimes physically abusing each other. Some examples include; throwing food at each other, name calling, threatening violence, hitting or throwing things at each other, fat shaming, shouting and swearing etc. This means that they are making money from posting very toxic, abusive and open things onto the internet for anyone to see. They also over share about the sexual experiences they have had with other people and the STDs they have caught from their adultery. If it were a man and a woman, people's eyes would be a lot more open to the level of abuse included in multiple videos across his channels. They cry, argue, fight and abuse each other; showing conversations and situations that most relationship therapists don't even see. This isn't the sort of thing that should be supported or encouraged on the site. They spend a majority of the videos just insulting each other, often getting physically aggressive towards each other. Some people think it's fake but the pair have stated that it's all real. Either way, it's not what needs to be on Youtube;it should be in a therapist's office.

The platform should not be encouraging this. This is how he makes a living and it simply shouldn't be the case. They refuse to get help or separate, which means that this is extremely unlikely to stop. Plus, many people watch and even enjoy the content, as people love drama and are drawn to negativity. Plus, some people find it funny, which is really bad for trying to put an end to the abusive content. They both stated in the latest video they have posted to this date, that if people want them to get therapy, they should send them money. Their lack of respect for their subscribers and lack of dignity makes their content almost unbearable. Abuse should not be so casually posted and viewed on Youtube. If someone were fat shaming their wife and threatening to hit them with things, someone would do something. 1 in six men are abused at some point in their life. This is no different. Don't allow their behaviour to continue. Stop letting them gain from their toxicity.
