Healesville is the heart of Victoria's prestigious and internationally famous Yarra Valley wine and produce region. Local wineries, restaurants, cafes and food producers have been hit hard by the impact of coronavirus.

Now, they are facing another devastating blow with 24/7 McDonald's planned to be opened at the entrance to the town. This completely inappropriate development will damage the Healesville community by diverting critical tourist dollars away from local businesses and into the pockets of one of the world's biggest corporate entities.

The proposed McDonald's will become the first thing that travellers to Healesville see when they arrive in town. The Yarra Valley is one of the world's premier wine regions, but Healesville risks losing its unique identity to the ugly golden arches.

The Healesville community doesn’t want a Maccas drive-through at the entrance to our town.

And McDonald's knows it.

The company is using sneaky tactics to try to muscle its way into the region. It was only announced that McDonald's was involved AFTER a development on the site for a petrol station, convenience store and fast-food restaurant was approved at VCAT.

Now they are trying to amend the planning approvals for a full-scale McDonald's drive-through restaurant. It is completely inappropriate to the town and we will fight it.

Help us stop Maccas from ruining Healesville.
